With the new Hefty update, you can make wishlists for birthdays, Christmas and any other occasion. Share the list with a link, and family and friends reserve the gifts so nobody buys the same thing – without you seeing what has been reserved.
How to make a wishlist
Go to the wishlist on heftyapp.com and log in with your email. You get a link by email, so there is no password to remember. Give the list a name, such as “Birthday” or “Christmas”. You can have several lists at once.
To add a wish, paste a link to the product from any webshop. Hefty fetches the name, price and picture, and you can edit them yourself. For each wish you can add how many you want and a note, such as size or colour.
Guests reserve – and you get a surprise
When the list is ready, send the link to whoever you like. They open the list on heftyapp.com without creating an account and reserve the gift they want to give. Other guests can see that a gift is reserved, but not by whom. You cannot see what has been reserved at all, so the surprise is kept.
If a guest changes their mind, they can remove their reservation again. The list cannot be found on Google – only people with the link can see it.
Free and honest
The wishlist is free. When a guest taps “Buy”, they go straight to the product in the webshop. With some shops the link goes through an affiliate programme, so Hefty may earn a small commission. It costs the guest nothing, and the price is the same.
Part of Hefty 1.14
The wishlist works on heftyapp.com right now. Hefty 1.14, which is on its way to the Chrome Web Store and the App Store, also adds a button in the Hefty extension and a wishlist in the iPhone app. For now, those two are available in Denmark.
